Take the Reins - Horsemanship for Adults

What's it all about?

An 8-week program for adults designed to further your knowledge of horses, their care, groundwork and the basics of Western riding. This program is all about building confidence, enjoying time with horses and meeting new people.

This program has 2 levels (4 weeks each) and will grow with the attendees so take it as many times as you want!

How many people will be there?

Max 8 attendees per session.

Where are classes held?

Take the Reins is run at Hudson Horsemanship North which is just 20 min north Airdrie and 10 min west of Hwy-2.

What will we be doing?

We will be covering a variety of horse related topics and activities including but not limited to:

* How to catch and lead a horse

* Groundwork & relationship building

* Care & grooming

* The basics of Western riding

Please note Part One is not a ride-focused program and there is no in-saddle time. Part Two will expand your knowledge base from Part One and include some in-saddle time. Part One is a pre-requisite for Part Two. If you're not comfortable riding, that's ok! You can stick to groundwork for the in-saddle portion of the program.

We have a 200lbs rider weight limit for our horses but all participants are welcome as we can do additional groundwork in place of in-saddle time.
